Hunting, Fishing, & Skiing

Mountain Lake Cabins are located on state game lands. This offers you the best of Pennsylvania hunting and fishing. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area. Pennsylvania has designated seasons for the various wildlife hunts.

To fish or hunt you must obtain hunting and/or fishing licenses. They can be obtained from the Pennsylvania Game Commission website.  Pennsylvania has designated seasons for the various wildlife hunts.

The adjacent  Cowans Gap State Park also offers swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking, hiking, a visitor center, and an environmental education program.

Skiing is available at the White Tail Ski Resort.

And nearby is James Buchanan's Birthplace State Park.   Buchanan was the 15th President of the United States.

Also, the Tuscarora Trail passes to the west of the Cowans Gap State Park. The trail serves as a bypass to the Appalachian Trail and follows the crest of the Tuscarora Mountain.
