Welcome to Mountain Lake Cabins, nestled in the majestic Tuscarora Mountains of south-central  Pennsylvania. A place to get away and get back to nature. Here you, your family, and friends can get cozy by an open fire, roast marshmallows and talk about the good times. Experience Mother Nature with all of the amenities of home. At Mountain Lake Cabins we offer you fully furnished cabins with the accessibility of Cowans Gap State Park. The 45 acre lake is only a 5-minute walk from your door.

Cowans Gap is a great place to swim, picnic, play volleyball or horseshoes, fish, hike, row or paddle boat in the summertime.

 





The white sandy beach of Cowan’s Gap’s swimming area is fun for all ages.

During the colder months of the year, nestle in the comfort of your cabin after ice fishing or ice-skating.  Hunting for Pennsylvania white tail deer, black bear, turkey, squirrel and rabbits is superb due to thousands of acres of state game lands surrounding our cabins**. Our cabins offer a great excuse for a long awaited hunting or fishing trip. Sleeping up to 8 guest, they are ideal for all types of getaways.

Skiing and sledding are available as well. Pennsylvania’s own White Tail Ski Resort is close by for your convenience. They offer a variety of skiing and mountain biking for all ages.

We have 7 cabins. You will find some slight differences in each. Cabins 1, 2, and 7 have full baths. Cabins 3, 4, 5, and 6 have half baths but there are shower houses available at the park during their season. All of the cabins have fully furnished kitchens.

Wood Stoves – All of our cabins have wood stoves. Each of the cabins have a wood box that contains firewood strictly for indoor use only. Please do not use wood boxes as trash containers. Outside each cabin you will find a fire ring and picnic table. You are responsible to gather wood used in the fire rings. As with any campfire, please use good safety precautions. Before leaving, make sure that there are no cans or other materials that did not burn and extinguish all hot coals.

Pets – Pets are negotiable. You may contact us for our policy on pets.

Waste Disposal – Each cabin has a trashcan provided in the kitchen. There is also a dumpster on site that you may discard your bags. We ask that you DO NOT throw food away outside on the property. Please tie bags shut and place them in the dumpster. You will also find that there are 2 baskets for cans. We recycle the cans to help raise money for a local Christian school that our daughter Hannah attends.

Activities at the cabins- We have horse shoe pits for your enjoyment. We also have a swing set on the property for children.

Toiletries, Bedding, Towels, Dish Cloths, Dish Soap, Paper Products, Lawn Chairs, Flash Lights, Swimming Gear, Hiking Gear, Games, Hunting and Fishing Gear, and Food

We offer discounts for large groups, church groups, etc.
